The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced that the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) would be held for undergraduate admission to UGC-affiliated central universities. The admission exam is scheduled for the first week of July 2022. The CUET will be administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Following the admission test results, each university would admit students based on a merit list issued by NTA, with no joint counselling. The NTA will hold an entrance exam for admission to 45 central institutions in India, where one’s Class 12 grades would not be considered. At best, institutions can utilise Class 12 results as a single qualifying criterion.
