The revenue from the game against São Paulo, in fact, is almost double what the club had in revenue from the 2022 Copa do Brasil games (R$ 13.7 million) — when Fla was champion. The second game of the final against Corinthians had gross revenue of R$11.1 million.
In the first half of 2023, Flamengo had already generated R$62.8 million in income gross with games.
The final of the Copa do Brasil, alone, was the equivalent of 42% of what the club pocketed in this regard throughout the first six months of the year.
Looking at the whole of 2022, the record income is equivalent to about a quarter of what Fla invoiced with box office last year.
To reach income of R$26.3 million, Flamengo x São Paulo had an average ticket of R$436.21. Tickets ranged from R$400 to R$4,500 for the general public.
Fans paid and booed
Flamengo fans filled Maracanã in the first match of the Copa do Brasil final against São Paulo, with 60 thousand paying fans.
