Sergio Ramos: «Now I can die in peace» – Seville

Spanish defender played the 90 minutes of Seville-Las Palmas

Sevilla won their first victory in the 2023/24 Spanish league on Sunday and ‘jumped’ from last place to 17th, by prevailing 1-0 against Las Palmas, thanks to a goal scored by Belgian striker Dodi Lukebakio , at 71 minutes. A day that Sergio Ramos, who played 90 minutes, will not forget.

“Now I can die in peace seeing my people, as I told my parents”, said the Spanish defender, who is returning to the club where he formed.

Sergio Ramos acknowledged that he feared some hostility but quickly realized that he would feel at home. “I had a little doubt at the beginning,” he said, explaining that it was dispelled by the reception he received: “It’s something I’m going to take to the grave.”

The Spanish player was still convinced that he has what it takes to have a good season: “These were the first minutes after three months. The dynamics of the game require playing and playing. I didn’t feel incredible, but very good.”
