William Byron held off the rest of the contenders to win the 2024 Daytona 500 NASCAR race on Monday at Daytona International Speedway.
Byron was the leader and took the white flag as Ross Chastain and Austin Cindric spun through the infield grass. NASCAR threw the caution flag mere car lengths after Byron crossed the start-finish line, freezing the field and giving Byron the win.
Chase Elliott won Stage 1, while Ryan Blaney earned the Stage 2 victory. Both get 10 regular season points and a playoff point. Blaney’s chances to win ended when he was involved in an 18-car crash with eight laps to go.
