LUTON, U.K. — Two clubs with differing goals square off on Sunday, as Manchester United gets set to take on Luton Town in English Premier League action.

Manchester United might have had a miserable start to the 2023-24 season, but they have picked up steam at the right time and have slowly crept their way up near the top tier of the table. After beating Aston Villa, on the road, last Sunday, the Red Devils have won their last three league matches, four across all competitions, and have not lost since Dec. 30. They went from a club calling for manager Erik ten Hag’s head to having a chance to sneak into the top four.
Coming into Sunday, ManU is sixth in the standings, six points back of Tottenham Hotspur for fifth, and eight behind Aston Villa for fourth, the last UEFA Champions League qualifying spot.
Luton Town is not playing for any Champions League spot, they are battling to simply stay in the Premier League.
After losing to last-place Sheffield United last Saturday, the Hatters have only been victorious in four of their last five league matches, including a wild 4-4 draw with Newcastle United two weeks ago. They do have the fifth round of the FA Cup to look forward to, where they will play the reigning champions in Manchester City, they have to be focused on trying to pick up points in EPL play.
Luton Town is just above the bottom three, just one point ahead of Everton, who are 18th in the table.
Manchester United managed to score a 1-0 win over Luton Town in their first meeting in November, and is 30-7-4 against the Hatters.
