Caitlin Clark and No. 6 Iowa women’s basketball earned a dominant win at Minnesota.
The Hawkeyes (25-4, 14-3 Big Ten) were dominant from the opening tip as Clark scored the game’s first 15 points. Minnesota never made it close and Clark broke three different record on the evening.
Clark will be going for “Pistol” Pete Maravich’s NCAA basketball scoring record in the team’s next game vs. Ohio State on Sunday. She needs just 18 more points

Iowa surpassed 100 points for the fourth time this season after a red-hot start by Clark.
That’s not back-to-back terrific performances by the Hawkeyes since their last loss.

Q4/3:59 Iowa 96, Minnesota 54 – Clark passes Lynette Woodard’s scoring record
With her eighth triple of the game, Clark passed Kansas’ Lynette Woodard for the overall women’s college basketball scoring record at 3,650 points.

It was nonstop play for the first six minutes of the fourth quarter. Iowa’s shooting stroke isn’t as prolific as it was to start, but the Hawkeyes continue to respond to any scores that Minnesota musters.
Expect the bench unit to come in soon.
End 3: Iowa 86, Minnesota 48 – Clark tallies 30-point triple-double
With another coast-to-coast sequence, Clark notched her second triple-double in a row and sixth of the season.
Besides her incredible play, Kylie Feuerbach has been extremely effective with her 13 points off the bench.
All 10 Hawkeyes who have played tonight have scored. Hannah Stuelke and Kate Martin, though, have been quiet with two points each.

Q3/1:17 Iowa 83, Minnesota 46 – Clark notches double-double
Clark is up to 28 points and 11 assists, notching yet another double-double.
She needs just one more rebound to secure a triple-double, which would be her second straight and sixth of the season.
Her success has come almost effortlessly tonight.
Q3/3:55 Iowa 72, Minnesota 40 – Gabbie Marshall breakout
Gabbie Marshall now has 16 points, just one shy of her season high from Nov. 12.
Her awakening has made this game even less competitive, despite Minnesota keeping better pace in this third frame.
Iowa has 15 made triples so far.
Caitlin Clark breaks NCAA women’s basketball single-season made 3s record
With her seventh 3-pointer of the night, Clark broke the NCAA women’s basketball single-season 3-pointers made record (155).
The previous record (154) was held by Idaho’s Taylor Pierce and set in the 2018-19 season.
Q3/6:30 Iowa 63, Minnesota 33 – Gabbie Marshall resurgence
It had been six games since Gabbie Marshall talled double-digit points, but a 3-pointer early in the third frame gave her 11 for the game.
It’s just the second time in six week that the senior guard has scored 10 or more points. She has been inconsistent of late, but her gaining confidence heading into the postseason would be a big boost to Iowa’s offense.
Halftime: Iowa 53, Minnesota 26 – Hawkeyes best half?
Maybe not the best, but certainly in the conversation.
Clark’s 21 first-half points seemingly came in the blink of an eye, and the rest of the team followed her lead once she cooled off.
Minnesota shot just 33.3% from the field to Iowa’s 57.1%, and the Hawkeyes converted on a staggering 12 3-pointers.
It’s unlikely that Iowa keeps up this shooting pace, but it appears the team is already well positioned to cruise to victory.
Q2/1:50 Iowa 48, Minnesota 22 – Lopsided matchup
It took 6.5 minutes for Minnesota to score its first points in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, Iowa began the frame on a 16-0 run, creating enough of a cushion that Clark took her second break on the bench of the half, which is a rare occurrence.
Q2/8:37 Iowa 39, Minnesota 16 – Clark stays hot from deep
Iowa came out firing again, this time on a 9-0 to force another Minnesota timeout.
Clark cashed two more 3s and needs just one more to break the single-season NCAA women’s basketball 3-pointers made record (154).
End 1: Iowa 30, Minnesota 16 – Textbook start for Iowa
If the majority of the crowd came to see Clark, everyone certainly got their money’s worth in that frame.
Clark has tallied 15 points, four rebounds and three assists already, igniting the Hawkeyes to capture a large lead and momentum. Kylie Feuerbach is also off to a strong start (6 points, two 3s), carrying over her hot hand from last game.
Minnesota settled in had some good shot making to keep pace, but Iowa’s start was as ideal and head coach Lisa Bluder could’ve hoped for.
Gabbie Marshall surpasses 1,000 career points
With a 3-pointer in the first quarter, senior guard Gabbie Marshall reached 1,000 points for her career.
Q1/4:36 Iowa 22, Minnesota 8 – Iowa’s offense scoring at will
It took 15 points scored by Clark before she missed, and the miss came from a 35-foot heat-check attempt.
Once her streak ended, she then dished out two assists for layups before a Gabbie Marshall triple forced another Minnesota timeout.
Everything going right for Iowa so far.
Clark passes Kelsey Mitchell on career 3-pointers made list
After starting 3-for-3 from behind the arc, Clark is now up to 498 career 3-pointers made, enough to surpass former Ohio State great Kelsey Mitchell (497) for the most ever by a Big Ten player, as well as second all-time in the NCAA.
Q1/7:05 Iowa 12, Minnesota 2 – Clark starts on fire
Clark got started quickly with a stepback triple within the game’s first few seconds.
Then, epitomizing Clark’s propensity to entertain, she followed it right up with a coast-to-coast and-1 layup on the next possession.
Two possessions later, she swished a 3-pointer from the logo, then did it again right after. She’s scored all 12 points thus far.

It’s another packed road game for Iowa and Clark. The broadcast showed fans lined up before the game waiting to get in, which has become the norm for the most popular women’s college basketball team in the nation.
