Person of interest identified in disappearance of Livingston child, search continues

LIVINGSTON, Texas (KBTX) -The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has issued an Amber Alert for 11-year-old resident Audrii Cunningham, last seen near her residence at approximately 7:00 AM on February 15, 2024, in the 100 block of Lakeside Drive.

Audrii, who should have caught the school bus at her neighborhood stop, did not board the bus, and school officials reported her absence to the Sheriff’s Office. As of now, Audrii’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Texas Ranger Division, Department of Public Safety, Livingston Police Department, Texas State Guard, and local Fire Departments, are assisting the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in the ongoing search for Audrii.

Audrii Cunningham is described as a 4-foot-1-inch tall white female weighing 75 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black pants, a black hoodie with white lettering, black high-top tennis shoes, and carrying a bright red ‘Hello Kitty’ style backpack.

Sheriff Lyons urges anyone with information about Audrii’s disappearance to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 936-327-6810 or submit an anonymous tip at p3tips.com.

UPDATE: Authorities have identified 42-year-old Don Steven McDougal of Livingston as a person of interest in Audrii’s disappearance. McDougal was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on an unrelated charge of aggravated assault.

Investigators believe McDougal’s dark blue 2003 Chevrolet Suburban may be linked to Audrii’s disappearance and are seeking public assistance in reporting any sightings of the vehicle on Thursday or Friday. A child’s backpack, likely belonging to Audrii, was found near the Lake Livingston Dam.

The investigation remains active, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Information can be reported through the iWatchTx app or online.

Polk County Crime Stoppers is offering a $7,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person responsible for Audrii’s disappearance. Tips, including anonymous ones, can be reported to 936-327-STOP or www.polkcountycs.org.”
