Some cellular services reportedly down across the country

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – AT&T lines are down across the country. This has been confirmed by several East Tennessee 911 agencies.

Jefferson County E-911 says, “It appears that ATT Wireless Customers may have issues when trying to make calls or send text messages.”

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says, “911 is also still receiving emergency calls.”

Customers of cellular services, including AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, have reported to Downdetector and social media that their phone service is down.

The companies themselves have not put out any official confirmation of the troubles.

The reports of outages appear to have started at around the same time, shortly after 3 a.m. EST, Downdetector said, and appeared to be waning some three hours later.

The outage reports for AT&T peaked at around 4:30 a.m. Eastern.

CNBC and Reuters are also reporting on the outages.
