The road to Cleveland is underway.
All automatic qualifier and at-larges have been determined in the NCAA Women’s Tournament Selection Show. All that remains is to watch them play.

Unsuprisingly, South Carolina became the No. 1 overall seed, the third time in as many seasons the Gamecocks were placed on that seed line. The Gamecocks enter the NCAA Tournament six wins away from becoming the 10th team in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history — and the first team since UConn in 2016 — to go undefeated for an entire season.
USC, Iowa and Texas locked up the remaining 1 seeds, though there were some interesting seeding choices beyond that: Just ask LSU.

8:45 p.m.: Columbia earned its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament, making it a two-bid year for the Ivy League. The Lions will face Vanderbilt in the First Four for the 12-seed in the Portland 3 Regional.
8:38 p.m.: Gonzaga earns the highest seeding in West Coast Conference history as the Bulldogs are the 4-seed in the Portland 2 Regional.
8:32 p.m: Texas secures the final No. 1 seed spot, as the top team of the Portland 2 Regional.
8:26 p.m.: Ohio State and UConn were both placed in the Portland 1 Regional as the 2-seed and 3-seed respectively. This is an intriguing placement as it could lead to a rematch of last year’s Sweet 16 matchup between both squads, in which Ohio State won 73-61.
8:25 p.m.: Virginia Tech is the 4-seed in the Portland 1 Regional. It’ll take on ASUN champion 13-seed Marshall, who is appearing in the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in program history.
8:22 p.m.: JuJu Watkins and the USC Trojans are the third overall seed in the field, the first time USC is a 1-seed in nearly 30 years.
8:17 p.m: The Albany 2 Regional is an interesting one with some potential matchups that could occur, including a rematch of last year’s national championship game between LSU and Iowa.
8:15 p.m.: UCLA gets its highest seeding in program history as the 2-seed in the Albany 2 Regional.
8:14 p.m.: LSU was named the 3-seed in the Albany 2 Regional. Kim Mulkey’s Tigers were the 3-seed in last year’s tournament, which they won it all.
8:10 p.m.: Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes grab the second overall seed in the tournament, being named the 1-seed in the Albany 2 Regional.
8:09 p.m.: Megan Duffy’s Marquette Golden Eagles earn at-large bid out of the Big East, being tabbed a 10-seed in the Albany 1 Regional.
8:08 p.m.: Notre Dame is the 2-seed in the Albany 1 Region after winning the ACC Tournament. This is an exciting placement for the Irish who took on South Carolina in Paris to open up the season.
8:04 p.m.: North Carolina was tabbed with the 8-seed and will take on 9-seed Michigan State in Albany 1 Region.
8:03 p.m.: The selection committee chose South Carolina as the No. 1 overall seed for the third consecutive season. The Gamecocks will take on either Sacred Heart/Presbyterian.
4:20 p.m.: Drexel women’s basketball is back in March Madness for just the third time in program history! The Dragons defeated Stony Brook 68-60 to win its third Colonial Athletic Conference title.
4:18 p.m.: Drake’s Anna Miller hit a buzzer-beater against Missouri State to send the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament as the automatic qualifier representative of the Missouri Valley Conference.
3:05 p.m.: Holy Cross is dancing for the second straight year as the champions of the Patriot League after defeating Boston University 61-55 in the conference tournament title game on Sunday.
3:01 p.m.: Sacred Heart defeated Le Moyne 69-48 to earn the automatic qualifier ticket to the NCAA Tournament from the Northeast Conference.

The 2024 NCAA Women’s Tournament begins on Wednesday, March 20 with the First Four. The first set of first-round games will begin Friday, March 22. The Regional weekend will begin Friday, March 29 and run through Monday, April 1 either in Albany, New York or Portland, Oregon.
The Final Four begins Friday, April 5 in Cleveland with the NCAA championship game taking place on Sunday, April 7 inside Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
